Not sure what those ingredients are, or what they do? Search no further, here you will find all the ingredients used in our products, as well as their source and some of their benefits. It is our goal to help our customers understand what their putting on their hair and why. We hope this will give a better understanding as to why Evangaline Hair Care formulated each product using the ingredients we chose. We especially desired to formulate products that were beneficial to those with curly, coily, kinky or coarse hair.
Distilled Water
Source: Water that has been purified through boiling.
Benefits: Being pure and free of additives, hard minerals, and harsh chemicals, distilled water can make hair healthier and adds more shine.

Shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner.

Glycerin (vegetable)
Source: Can come from soy, coconut or palm oils.
Benefits: Draws moisture to hair keeping it hydrated. It also nourishes and conditions the hair making it soft.

Sunflower Lecithin
Source: Sunflower kernels/ seeds
Benefits: Moisturizes and strengthens the cell membranes of dry, damaged and brittle hair. It also aids in scalp irritation and dandruff, while protecting the hair from environmental deterioration.

Shea Butter
Source: Shea Nuts
Benefits: Lubricates and softens hair to help prevent tangling and breakage. Anti-inflammatory properties soothe scalp, reducing flakiness and combating dandruff. It also strengthens hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth.

Chebe Oil made in house using the following ingredients: Chebe Powder, Olive Oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
Chebe Power
Source: Chebe seed, Lavender croton, Prunus Mahaleb, Cloves, Gum Arabic and Stone scent.
Benefits: Helps reduce breakage by moisturizing and strengthening the hair. The alkaloids in Chebe power regulate the pH of the scalp keeping it healthy.
Olive Oil
Source: Olives
Benefits: Penetrates the hair shaft to provide hydration and prevent breakage. The oleic acid in it helps to protect against damage and splits ends, while keeping the hair shiny. The antioxidants help with buildup and aids in sebum production which nourishes the scalp.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Source: Castor Plant Seeds
Benefits: It contains omega-6, omega-9 fatty acids, and ricin oleic to name a few, which in turn nourishes the scalp to improve blood flow and strengthens the hair roots. It also moisturizes and strengthens the hairs strands to reduce breakage.

Honeyquat
Source: Honey
Benefits: It is a natural cationic polymer. It conditions while adding moisture to the hair. Its anti-bacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties assist in scalp health, by gently cleansing and alleviating itchiness and dandruff.

Cationic Guar Gum
Source: Guar Plant Seeds
Benefits: It creates slip and conditions the hair making it easy to detangle and comb, wet or dry. It keeps hair hydrated without weighing it down and protects strands from pollution.

Papaya Seed Oil
Source: Papaya Fruit Seeds
Benefits: It assists in controlling and preventing dandruff by restoring balance to the scalp. The antioxidant in the oil softens and smooths dry or damaged hair. The stearic acid in it helps to retain moisture while conditioning and protecting the hair and scalp.

Geogard Ultra
Source: Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate which come from natural acids in fruits or vegetables.
Benefits: A preservative that keeps water-based products from developing microbial spoilage, bacteria, yeast and fungus.

Vitamin E
Source: Plant-based oils, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and fruits.
Benefits: It can protect the hair from damage by the sun, pollution, and harsh chemicals. It hydrates the hair and scalp, helping with dryness, itching and split ends. It stimulates blood circulation in the scalp while helping to balance the oils produced by the scalp.

Tea Tree
Source: Tea Tree Leaves.
Benefits: It can balance the scalp’s oil production while improving blood flow to the scalp. That in turn stimulates the hair follicles helping hair to grow as well treating scalp conditions. This oil also helps restore hair’s luster.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate (BTMS 50)
Source: Rapeseed Oil a.k.a. Colza Oil
Benefits: It coats and conditions the hair making it easy to manage while adding shine. By penetrating the hair, it improves combability while wet. It also softens the hair.

Bamboo Bioferment
Source: Bamboo Leaves
Benefits: As a natural silica, it adds a smooth, soft, slip on the hair, which not only improves combability but also adds shine.

Lamesoft PO 65
Source: Coco Glucoside, which comes from coconuts, and Glyceryl Oleate which can come from, olive oil, peanut oil, teaseed oil or pecan oil.
Benefits: To start it makes the shampoo gentler and less drying. It can replenish the oils in the hair and scalp, that have been removed through straightening and chemical treatments. It also conditions the hair making it softer and shiner.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Source: Coconut Oil
Benefits: It reduces the drying effects on the hair by helping to hydrate the hair while cleansing the hair. It cleanses the scalp without harming it. Also it helps moisturize the hair and helps add shine to the hair.

Decyl Glucoside
Source: Corn, coconuts or palm oil.
Benefits: It gently cleanses scalp and hair, removing impurities and excess oil without causing irritation. It helps to maintain the scalp’s natural pH balance without drying out the scalp. It aids in moisture retention in the hair while hydrating the scalp.

Source: Coconut Oil
Benefits: It helps to remove dirt, buildup, and pollutants from the hair and scalp.

Bees Wax
Source: Bees secrete this wax while building the honeycomb.
Benefits: It not only moisturizes the hair, but it also acts as a sealant by locking in the moisture. It can add a protective shield on the hair protecting it from environmental stressors and sealing split ends.

Source: Husk (outer layer) of Rice
Benefits: The antioxidants in the oil improve blood circulation in the scalp, aiding with healing and dandruff. It strengthens hair from the roots helping to make it softer, stronger and more elastic. It also revitalizes dry, damaged and brittle hair.

Sunflower Seed Oil
Source: Sunflower Seeds
Benefits: The oleic and linoleic acids in the oil help prevent breakage. It nourishes the scalp and hair as well as its anti-inflammatory properties help prevent an itchy scalp. It contains vitamin E which helps protect the hair follicles from oxidative stress.

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose
Source: Cellulose from plant cell walls such as cotton, flax, hemp, sisal, kenaf, bamboo, and wood pulp.
Benefits: It is a natural, vegan thickening and stabilizing agent for hair products, which helps keeps the water and oil ingredients from separating. It enhances the foam in shampoos making it more gentle and effective. It helps to lock in moisture, preventing dryness and improving the overall condition of the hair.

Bhringraj
Source: Bhringraj Leaves
Benefits: It nourishes and strengthens the hair from the roots by stimulating blood circulation and revitalizing hair follicles. The vitamins and minerals in the leaves helps prevent breakage making hair stronger. It's anti-inflammatory properties aids in fighting dandruff and itchy scalp.

Brahmi Powder
Source: A perennial creeping herb also known as Bacopa Monnieri or water hyssop.
Benefits: It helps with keeping your scalp clean, soothe, and healthy. The antimicrobial properties in the herb combat the fungi that causes dandruff. It helps to hydrate and moisturize the hair, preventing dryness and brittleness. It strengthens the hair follicles and prevents split ends.
